Doctor Dress-Up

Say “Aaaaah!” Despite the cliches, kids really do love to play doctor in its purest form; they love to re-enact the events of their lives – and they love to make their parents, siblings and stuffed animals healthy. They particularly love to give shots, in our experience! Interestingly, role-playing is shown to improve vocabulary, and the doctor role is often cited as the best example: as a child inhabits the doctor role, the child typically uses more challenging words (think “fracture”) than in normal conversation.
